René Guénon (1886-1951) was the French "metaphysician" with whom the modern Traditionalist movement started.

The website of which you are now viewing the home page was the first internet resource established for those interested in scholarly research into Traditionalism and the Traditionalists.

There are now two distinct online resources for this:

  1. The Traditionalists blog. This is a blog that was started in 2006, and is regularly updated.
  2. Traditionalists.org (where you are now). This is a website started in 2000 with some material dating from 1998, which has not been regularly updated since the blog was started in 2006.

The Traditionalists blog is now the main resource for those who are interested in scholarly research into Traditionalism and the Traditionalists.

  • It is aimed primarily at those who are already familiar with Traditionalism and the main people and organizations involved.
  • There is a (moderated) facility to comment on posts.

Traditionalists.org is kept partly for historical reasons. Some of the material on it (especially guides to websites) is now very out of date. However, the website still has material that will be of interest, including:
